I am not proud of this, but [livejournal.com profile] desperance tempted me, and I did eat:

You Are a Boston Creme Donut
You have a tough exterior. No one wants to mess with you.
But on the inside, you're a total pushover and completely soft.
You're a traditionalist, and you don't change easily.
You're likely to eat the same doughnut every morning, and pout if it's sold out.

Some of these statements are true: despite the fact that I couldn't answer half the questions, and I've never heard of a Boston Creme Donut.

Me neither, but imagination is a wonderful thing. Why else would we be playing this game, with questions we can't answer over objects we don't recognise?

I had it from [livejournal.com profile] beckyzoole, by the way; I am guilty only by association.

And have you noticed, down towards the bottom there, it suddenly spells doughnut as she was always meant to be spelled? Just the once, but the glimpse is there. There is hope yet. It occurs to me suddenly that nobody, nobody kneads do...

I think I had one when I found a 'Dunkin Donuts' shop just off Piccadilly Circus once. If I remember rightly I preferred jam ones and custard-filled ones.

Well, we must be compatible (unless likes repel, as magnets) as I too came out as what I think should be spelled Boston Cream Doughnut. So no need to paste the code here.

In the US, donuts (generally) are either filled with "creme" or with "kreme." Doughnuts, however, are another matter.

There's a donut debate? Who knew...

The only culinary sense of "bismark" that I know is a kind of cured herring (probably what my grandmother knew as a rollmop) - I don't think I'd like it in a doughnut.

Now that the queasiness has subsided, I can say that, according to my sources, a "bismark" is a jelly donut- also known as a "Berlin doughnut."

When John F Kennedy made his famous "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech, it's said the Germans in the audience looked at each other in amazement: "He says he's a doughnut?"
