We rose at seven this morning to go swimming, and for the first time this year I surfaced from sleep to the sounds of the dawn chorus.

Roll on spring!

(did I say that right? It's a Brit-ism...)

You speak the language fluently! (So how would you say that in your native tongue?)

It's funny; I completely understand the sentiment of 'roll on' but I don't think that Ameri-speak has an exact equivalent. I think that we'd say something more like, 'Come on, spring!' or 'spring can't come soon enough!'.

Speaking of which, we had a fabulously unseasonably warm day yesterday (60F and sunny) and I celebrated by working on my laptop outside and hanging laundry on the line. The ground actually started to thaw! But winter isn't finished here yet; it'll be back to 27F by the weekend. Yesterday was just a lovely window into things to come.

Yay! I always enjoy the return of the chorus. Ours isn't back yet.)

There's a reason I called this post "Early"!

(Also, I enjoy it now, when the music comes at an hour I want to be awake; later in the year, when the birds are yelling their little heads off at 4.00 am, not so much...)
