I wonder if they are by any chance related?
The cover art for the album is credited to Jo Mora, an artist working in California in the first half of the twentieth century (his Wikipedia entry has a fine decorative map by him) - in other words, they used a pre-existing image.
Further than that I can't go - or rather, the search for further information leads into byways I should not be taking time to explore this morning (such as the Digital Librarian's catalogue of online images).
