I read somewhere that it's impossible to raise the brightness in one's dreams above a certain level. One switches on an extra light and the bulb will blow. I wonder if this is actually true.
I don't actually have even that degree of control; what happened last night was that I was seeing images and thinking how I'd have to modify them when I got to the computer.
But I know people who have more ability to control what happens in their dreams, and I know that the dreaming mind does tend to rationalise what happens (stories about bells happening in the split second between the alarm clock going off and the sleeper waking, for example), so I don't see why not.
