The More the MerrierAnne Fine's publishers have been reissuing her children's books in a uniform, pajama-striped edition, and Amazon is struggling to keep up.

Here's the correct listing for the latest re-issue, The More the Merrier (Anne's devastatingly funny take on a family Christmas), with the final version of the new cover, silver foil and all; but here, where the previous edition used to be, instead of the original cover image, there's an early draft of the new cover. The publishers have been informed, and it's possible, who knows, that Amazon will correct this. But just for the time being, try clicking through to the larger image and have a look at that strapline.
Really Really Good quote here

Nice!

Talking of amazon, [livejournal.com profile] sdn linked to this wonderful collection of user comments a few days ago. Really, it's worth working through all of the comments.

Ah, I saw that via [livejournal.com profile] fastfwd. I enjoyed the first page or so, but I admit I didn't persevere to the end (conscience, I suppose...).

Are you saying I am lacking in the conscience department?

No doubt you'd wasted less time on your way there than I had?

Probably not, but I was wasting my own time, if I recall correctly.

I so loved The More the Merrier. Was a two household kid myself.

I've confused it with Step By Wicked Step haven't I? But I love More the Merrier as well.

Ah, that makes more sense. I love The More the Merrier (and the rant about Christmas (http://www.annefine.co.uk/books/more.merrier2.php) Anne wrote for her web site). Not having been through the two households bit, I empathise less with Step by Wicked Step; of that set of stories, I love the funny one.

Have you read Road of Bones, yet? It's something else entirely...

US readers may like to know that The More the Merrier was published on your side of the Atlantic as The True Story of Christmas which was in fact Anne's original title for the book.
