Congratulations, Stephen and Candy!

In a properly (de)regulated society, people wouldn't have to get married to satisfy the government's ideas about parental rights and responsibilities. And we'd have to think of another excuse to party...

But in this imperfect world, it was a fine wedding, as weddings go. And here's looking at you, kids.

Well, thank you, both to Jean for posting this and to 'Profane Stencil' for such a nice comment. Candy was wearing a gorgeous burgundy velvet bodice and silk skirt, with a silk wrap. I was in a cotton Chinese jacket that I bought in a small Parisian boutique, a black Thai silk shirt from The Silk Shirt Company (http://www.silkshirtco.com/index.html) and a pair of black linen trousers. Candy looked amazingly wonderful and I am ever so honoured that she agreed to marry me. Even though it took her fourteen and a half years...

Neither of you look old enough to have been together for 14 and a half years.
But a totally random "congratulations" to you, nonetheless.
(Stencil and I adopted similarly untraditional wedding attire and love to see other folks break that tired virgin-in-white, groom-in-clothes-he'd-never-otherwise-wear mold. You both looked lovely!)

That's lovely of you to say, Sekhmets Song. It must be the poor quality of the photograph! Although I always think Candy looks a lot younger than her fifty-something years. (Part of that last sentence is a lie...)
