We buy Rhône in bond from the Wine Society. A combination of circumstances - closure of the local Majestic; not geting out much during lockdown; electricians at work in the wine cellar (to enable kerbside charging of our car) - means we are currently reduced to drinking our stash. First world problems, eh?

Completely coincidentally we had Sunday lunch with M's sister and her family yesterday (roast beef with roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding), and his BIL, who is the cook, brought out a bottle of 2013 Gigondas. OMG, it was fantastic. I don't drink much red wine these days, and I probably only had 1 1/2 glasses. I felt quite vague for a couple of hours afterwards, but it was worth it.

We have fond memories of visiting Gigondas, quite a long time ago - but even without that, they make some good wine there ..
