Actually, I don't know how we shall be celebrating. Our extremely kind and generous friend Frances has invited us on a mystery outing: we are to await collection at 6.40, looking reasonably but not excruciatingly smart, and she will collect us and whisk us off.
This is very exciting, and almost entirely in a good way: I invariably go through a period of doubt before going out to a social event, even one to which I have been looking forward - do I really want to stop doing what I am now immersed in, and find clean clothes and keys and shoes and all the other bits and pieces needed for going out? Yes, I do, really - but on this occasion those doubts are amplified by uncertainty about what precisely is needed for a mystery evening: presumably you don't take a bottle...
Nonetheless, time to power off and get ready.
