I don't seem to have posted an update about the state of the car. Possibly because it remains unresolved.

As planned,

durham_rambler took the car back to the garage / dealer on the Monday morning, and drove home in the courtesy car they gve him. And on Monday afernoon, the garage rang to say they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Had they tried giving it a fast charge? Well, no, they hadn't, because they didn't have a fast charger.

So

durham_rambler headed back out to the garage (we are lucky that it's only a few miles away) and showed them the report from the AA sying we were called out to deal with this fault which we were able to do because it is a known fault and we have a page about it on .our system. Yes, that's a known fault which is known to everyone except the main dealership.

In the end they agreed that next time it happens, we will call the garage and they will send someone out to watch it happening. Meanwhile, we can't go too far from home. Luckily we have no long trips planned until Christmas.
