Mellow fruitfulness

durham_rambler has just brought in the first blackberries from the garden. Just a couple of handfuls: I'm thinking clafoutis.

Does this mean it's autumn?

The wild ones on the hedgerows aren't quite there but not far from.

I suspect an early Autumn.

These are wild; they may grow in our garden, but we didn't plant them!

It may be Autumn Up North. Here it is still too hot and (worse) too dry.

It is still warmer overnight than I find comfortable. But we have rain.

Nevertheless, we have some ripe blackberries down here (I put some in a crumble last weekend). Maybe the climate is making them a "late summer" fruit instead.

One way or another, late summer blurs into autumn!
