You make me realise that I know very little about lighthouses anywhere else in the world - and that most of what I know concerns the Stevenson familt!

Europe has lots of coastline that benefits from lighthouses, but so do other places. The contrast between Europe and everywhere else really jumped out at me. I expected more from North America, for instance.
