New glasses!

shewhomustThe optician called to say my new glasses have arrived, and yesterday I went to collect them and to have them fitted (this may need tweaking: my left ear is a little sore).
There is a limit to how far my vision can be improved by glasses, but the new ones had to be better than the pair I had been wearing since I broke my previous pair - and yes, they were. I had been using a pair originally calibrated for mid-distance, for work at my desktop (what I am doing now, in fact) so it's good to regain some distance vision.
On the other hand, neither that pair which were designed for screen work, nor my new varifocals give me much help at the screen: so that'll be the next pair to replace. Luckily, my reading glasses still work.
The new glasses come with their own very stylish box. But it says 'Retro' on the lid. I'm inclined to take this personally.
