I can haz potimarron

Yesterday we visited Broom House Farm, which is where we buy most of our meat (and other things beside). The sun was streaming in through the open door onto this display, and although I hadn't brought my camera, very obligingly photographed it for me:

I bought a potimarron (that's the orange teardrop. also known as hokkaido squash, apparently, though not in this house). Now I have to decide how to cook it: soup, possibly, or pie? Or both?

The little bright orange ones there also have a Japanese name- fuji.

I love pumpkin soup to which I always add pumpkin seeds.

I may have run out of pumpkin seeds - I sometimes add them to bread, especially if there was also a spoonful or so of mashed pumpkin to go into the mix ...
