As Northern Ireland attempts not to strangle itself in borders which it is solemnly agreed do not exist, and as Gibraltar quietly enters the Schengen area and hopes the British press won't notice, I love this story of France and Belgium agreeing not to argue about the border (so long as the farmer who moved the marker puts it back where it belongs). It reminds me of a happy holiday walking (mostly) in the Palatinate Forest in Germany, where one day's walk ended with an overnight stay in France, and another included a gentle downhill stroll criss-crossing a trail of low red sandstone blocks marking the border between the Palatinate Forest and the forêt des Vosges...

I recall walking from Gorizia in Italy over the border to Nova Goricia in Slovenia and considering that it had been a shooting hotspot during the Cold War.

We also walked from Esztergom in Hungary across the Mária Valéria Bridge over the Danube to Štúrovo in Slovakia.

WE probably can't do that now as non EU members. :o(

That is really nice.

Here's hoping the France/Belgium border dispute is easily settled. :-)
