For purposes of comparison, here's one I took earlier - we visited Abbotsford one midsummer from our base on Lindisfarne, and D. told us we should detour to Smailholm, and as usual he was right. I don't seem to have posted about it at the time (I seem to have been quite busy).
Meanwhile, in Paris, they celebrate a different anniversary: also from The Guardian's picture gallery, marking 150 years since the Commune.
