Happy birthday, boybear!

I've been remembering the year Skip gave you a melon and a lemon for your birthday: were we in Greece? Had you asked for a melon?

Does this suggest that I haven't got you a present yet? Tell me if there's something you want, and I probably won't give you an an anagram of it.

I was five.. and I'd invented anagrams. I don't think I explained that that was why I asked for a whole melon and a whole lemon, or perhaps you were all too polite to tell me that someone else had beaten me to it..

..perhaps also I was slightly dyslexic? I remember around that time reading a book at school that seemed to be about transmigration - "I was a kitten; I was a flower.." and it becoming much less interesting when the teacher pointed out that the word was "saw", not "was"..

If you were five, it must have been in Hungary. I didn't realise you'd asked for the lemon, I thought that was just Skip - like the time she visited Gabrielle in hospital and took her a pineapple ...

Does dyslexia have a benign form, then, where you can see how all the letters dance into other patterns without being horrified by how slippery and ungraspable they are?
