My brain is currently a seething mess of comics-related stuff.

For one thing, we are off to Angoulême for the Festival, leaving on Sunday and stopping for a day in Paris to visit friends; so there's something in the background of my mind which is constantly running things to remember to pack, to take, to find, to wash, to do before we leave (complete Ann's website! defrost fridge! change money!).

Yesterday, on my way to the Graphic Novels Reading Group, I stopped off at the Travelling Man comic shop, who were having a sale. I was very good, I only bought one book, but it was the most expensive book in the sale: the big and beautiful Alchemy of Mirrormask. Reduced below half price, it was irresistible. Now the problem is that I keep wanting to peep inside it, but I also don't want to look inside it until I've seen the film.

On the other other hand, that may be sooner than I'd thought: it is apparently on the programme on an animation festival not far away, in February. So if I can just open the PDF with all the details...

That heading is of course a quote from The Walrus and the Carpenter by Lewis Carrol. Which reminds me that we hope to see Bryan Talbot at the festival — the connection being, of course, that Bryan's current work-in-progress is Alice in Sunderland.
