So, La La Land: Does it end happily or unhappily? Both. Not because Sebastian and Mia succeed in their ambitions, but don't make it as a couple. I'm thinking rather of the device which is either, depending on how positive you feel about the movie, an interesting philosophical twist or an attempt to have it both ways, in which Mia and her unexplained partner drift (of all the gin joints of all the towns in allthe world) into Sebastian's, and as he plays, we see the life they might have had together, what might have been...

So, La La Land: did it win the Best Picture Oscar, yes or no? Both.
