Adventures on the road west

We are in Kendal, and all is well.
Had things gone according to plan, we would have arrived early- to mid-afternoon, and there would have been time for some preliminary exploration as well as a leisurely account of our detour via Stanhope to see an exhibition of cut paper work in the church hall.
Instead we had a puncture just north of Tebay. Since ours is a modern car, it doesn't have a spare wheel, so we couldn't just change the wheel and carry on. Instead we had a magic aerosol, which is supposed to keep the wheel intact for a few more miles, and should have brought us the remaining distance into Kendal. It gave out barely three miles on, and left us by the side of the road. We called out the rescue service, and while we were waiting, we admired the view:
Eventually we were rescued by a nice man with a trailer and a Liverpool accent, and he delivered us to a garage in Kendal who took all of ten minutes to change the wheel.
So now we are arrived at our cottage. The map was not lying when it said it was conveniently close to the Brewery Arts Centre - any closer and we'd be IN the Brewery. Actually, that's not such a bad idea...
