We continue to talk to our builder about redecorating: this has to wait until the drying-out process is completed, but it would be good to start then as soon as we can. I'm happy with how the kitchen as decorated, and don't want to make changes just for the sake of it, so it can be repainted as close as possible to the previous colour. But tiles and worktops that have been removed can't be matched, so we have to start again from scratch, and it makes sense to select tiles, and then find a work surface that looks good with them.

We visited a tile stockist, and saw some possibilities, but nothing that made me think yes, that's what I want! so I've been poking around the internet...

We have already discovered that I really like William Morris wallpaper. So I don't expect anyone to be surprised that when it comes to tiles I really like - no, not Morris, I'm not (quite) that predictable! - William de Morgan.
