We had rhubarb in our garden outside Stockholm and I admit to loving the stuff, I also remember mum picking it before or after sunrise, I forget which. I love the picture of the fierce rhubarb harvesters best. Are you buying some? (Rhubarb, I mean;)?

I love rhubarb, but I always wait for the main crop, at half the price! Perhaps I should splash out on some forced rhubarb, to see if it as wonderful as they say -

but they also say (I heard this on the radio this morning) "forced rhubarb is champagne where the ordinary stuff is sparkling wine", and I'm very happy with sparkling wine, so perhaps not!

That's a deep beautiful glowing pink. it almost makes me want to try one of those tarts, even though I'm not fond of rhubarb.

Whereas I love rhubarb, but found the tarts rather alarming: the thick, artificial pink made me think of doll's house food.
