Nth Position magazine presents this letter from C.S. Lewis as showing that he "would have vehemently rejected adaptation" of his books to film or television. I think it shows the opposite, that he did not object in principle, but thought that it couldn't be done by actors in costumes.

(Interesting navbar on that site- at least on my monitor. I like the way the "links" tab sits in the center.)

I feel about most books that it's unnecessary to put this stuff on film; I suppose it makes more sense from the film's point of view than from the book's.
(And allow me to say that your current icon introduces a whole new aspect of your personality - I had not previously suspected the existence of a twinkly seasonal Stencil!)
