  • [livejournal.com profile] ursulav has been shopping for the Narnia books. She refers to The Book of the Film as The Lion, The Witch and the Ugly, with the footnote:
A rich, sweeping novel which culminates in a gruesome scene where a poncho-clad Lion with No Name makes Eustace balance on a stone faun with a noose around his neck, then rides off, centaur-back, with the loot, pausing only to shoot the rope at the last minute. Also, there is an excellent musical score.
But shouldn't that be The Good, the Bad and the Wardrobe?

  • [livejournal.com profile] rozk's LJ-cut text refers to "The Cat, the Cutie and the Closet, as Colin Greenland once called it when asked to write Lewis in the style of Chandler. 'There was white powder on her hands, but it didn't come from no Turkish Delight; no wonder they called her the Snow Queen.'"

  • and [livejournal.com profile] rushthatspeaks has embarked on a sympathetic and brilliantly illuminating reading of Lewis's Ransom trilogy.

Yes, November 22nd is C.S. Lewis day on my f-list: one of these posts is dated yesterday, and the other two in the small enough hours of this morning to count as late last night. And aptly so, because it is the anniversary of Lewis's death (somewhat overshadowed, like the death of Aldous Huxley, by that of John F. Kennedy).
