Silly questions

Among the mail on the doormat when we got home was a letter inviting me for a breast screening at 9.30 this morning. Thanks to some heroic organisation from durham_rambler, I was able to turn up and be squashed and photographed.

On my way out, I was asked to complete a 'Friends and Family' survey: "How likely are you to recommend this service to friends and family in similar circumstances?"

Both of the staff were friendly and efficient, and I felt mean ticking the box against "Very unlikely", but the best I could do was scrawl in the space for explanation: "It doesn't work that way!"

How likely am I to recommend to friends and family that they turn up when called in for screening? Very. But if someone tells me that she has a concern about her breasts, and should she knock on the door of the mobile clinic in the hospital car park (assuming that it's there this week), I'm not going to say, "Yes, I thought they offered a good service." Go to your GP.

Haha, yes: when the off-the-shelf language for a survey question just isn't appropriate. If what they wanted was affirmation about their service, they should have ased, "Would you speak highly of our professionalism to friends and family?" ... Frankly, why is the hospital doing mobile screenings in the car park? Is it just to increase the number of people they can see? ... So some folks get premier screenings actually IN the hospital and others get seen in the mobile clinic?

There exists a bouncing tits icon I haven't yet been able to steal, sadly, I believe dark_phoenix54 uses it at hard times. I once had my own squashed and never again, they can do that to their own primary or secondary sexual...objects as much as they like, I'm not interested, merci!

Good question. I *think* so that the same equipment can be shared by several hospitals, but I don't actually know. I can't keep up with the changes in the NHS: all this seemed to be done in the name of a neighbouring NHS (geographical) area, and I don't know the reason for that, either.
