Among the mail on the doormat when we got home was a letter inviting me for a breast screening at 9.30 this morning. Thanks to some heroic organisation from [livejournal.com profile] durham_rambler, I was able to turn up and be squashed and photographed.

On my way out, I was asked to complete a 'Friends and Family' survey: "How likely are you to recommend this service to friends and family in similar circumstances?"

Both of the staff were friendly and efficient, and I felt mean ticking the box against "Very unlikely", but the best I could do was scrawl in the space for explanation: "It doesn't work that way!"

How likely am I to recommend to friends and family that they turn up when called in for screening? Very. But if someone tells me that she has a concern about her breasts, and should she knock on the door of the mobile clinic in the hospital car park (assuming that it's there this week), I'm not going to say, "Yes, I thought they offered a good service."
