Après-dîner

We dined inside a water tower; Mendocino is famous for its water towers, and Flow is located upstairs at the one on Main Street. We brought home with us the remains of a bottle of Atrea Old Soul Red, which is everything the website says.

durham_rambler has found a weather forecast, and the rain may be easing off. But I won't tempt fate by saying so.

Much more interesting than the Mendocino Hotel next door with its 'fine dining in a Victorian dining room' - quirky, and strong on local and organic produce.

But not particularly water-tower-themed, if that's what you were wondering.

i was looking for more exotic cuisine.. my brother used to grow and blend cooking spices. he was a retired chef. now he's just a gay cableros
; )

there was an organic cafe here for a while in an old train station, but they only served raw food dishes that lacked to the palate. with live music and solstice meditations with crystal bowl chanting but they couldn't make it go. it did influence other restaurants in the area to buy organic local produce for their menus. it doesn't matter how "good it is for you" it has to be savoury.. too.

Well, it's all exotic for me, you know. Even fish and chips is different.

So I had the beet salad (both red and golden beets), and a chicken and apple pizzetta - that's exotic by my standrds!

there's a place our here, tapas, that makes a spinach arugula salad with toasted pecans, beets, red onions and goat cheese that is to die for!
