Farewell to a good and faithful servant

shewhomustWe have bought a new car: we'd have bought another Yaris Verso, but they don't make them any more, so we went for a Skoda Roomster, which seemed to be the closest we could get to our old car, only black, and just over a year old.
We traded in the Yaris, for a better price than we were expecting. It has carried us long and valiantly, but has reached an age where it is constantly suffering minor ailments, and each time we had one fixed, another would appear. We both felt a pang as we left it standing on the garage forecourt in the rain and walked away.
Ah, yes, the rain: it rained all day yesterday, and is still intermittently showery today. The river is high, and rising.
