Eddie Campbell reads the Daily Mail - and I'd like to add "so you don't have to", but I can't find an alternative source for these wonderful photos of London's East End in the 1950s, back when it was a Jewish area, not a Bengali one.

The photos come from Getty Images, and are on display at the shiny new shopping centre in Stratford, but only until next month, so I'm unlikely to see it there.
