The first walk of the year
Jan. 18th, 2009 11:02 amAnd also the first photograph of the year.
I almost said, start as you mean to go on, but although I hope to go on photographing beautiful places in beautiful light, I mean to go on taking pictures of things that catch my eye whether the sun is shining on them or not.
I'm glad to have taken some pictures today - I was beginning to wonder how long it would be - but this isn't my favourite of them (I prefer this one.) It isn't even my favourite of today's pictures of the cathedral.
It wasn't a long walk - out to Shincliffe round by Neville's Cross, between the colleges and through Houghall woods; lunch at the Seven Stars (recommended) and back along the river.
Since any route home from the river must end with a solid climb, we fell back in through the front door feeling very well walked - and by the time
