Light and dark and cold and wet
Nov. 16th, 2019 03:50 pmWe didn't go out on Thursday night; we stayed in and watched Rich Hall's film about the cold war. And then I went to bed and listened to the piano music floating up from the installation at Rushford Court (or the County Hospital, as it once was).
But last night the forecasr was better. We planned a route, not too ambitious, and bought pizza, so that we could cook quickly when we returned, and we set off early to see what we could see:
This is Celestial Brainstorm by Amelia Kosminsky. The explanation through the link is possibly more interesting than the installation itself, but it was a pleasant thing to find tucked in among the houses under the viaduct. You can crank it to spin faster, and people did.
( Pictures of 'Keys of Light' )
The Bridge Hotel may have taken umbrage at our failure to come in out of the rain, because as we were edging along the narrow pavement, it tipped a cold shower directly onto my head. I tool this as a sign: we had seen the two installations in our direct neighbourhood, time to go home. So we did.
