The Black Earl's Palace - for sartorias

Not exactly, as for some reason I don't have a photo of Durham Castle to hand. Here, instead, is a picture of the Earl's Palace in Kirkwall, which just happened to be the next picture from our holiday waiting to be uploaded.

It was built at the very beginning of the seventeenth century for the Wicked Earl Patrick Stewart (who may or may not have been wickeder than his contemporaries, but he's the one who got stuck with the reputation), also known as "Black Patie".
