Showing my age

We were shopping in Sainsbury's this morning, and I was considering buying some leeks - one of the pleasures of winter, the reappearance of the leeks, and all the warming, soothing dishes you can make with them. And here was a pack of organic leeks, four of them, neatly trimmed, £1.99. But... but that's ten bob each!

I shall buy some leeks from the greengrocer.
