Hyperbolic what?
Jun. 9th, 2008 09:58 pmAccording to Chambers, hyperbolic is the adjective from 'hyperbole', and hyperbole is a figure of speech: the use exaggeration to create a vivid impression. Elsewhere, apparently, it's something to do with needlework - as when you crochet your own Great Barrier Reef (and don't miss the picture gallery).

I got a kick out of seeing Alan Garner on the screen, so soon after you'd posted about being in correspondence with him. I have quibbles with other aspects, but will vent about that next time we meet.
