Two or three things I know about Wem

In fact, I'd never even heard of Wem until our friend Sue moved there; and even then I knew no more than its approximate location, until we visited her there. Now I know:

• that Wem is the home of the modern sweet pea,


• that it is a great place for people who like red brick,







• and that it has a Museum of Myth and Fable. A visit to its web site is entirely optional: it plays music at you, and doesn't seem to say anything about the wonderful building in which it lives. (It wasn't open, so I can't say more than that...)

I know nothing of Wem (including where in the world it might be), but I followed yr sweet-pea link, and was a little startled by the name of Eckford, as this is the first time I've seen it in thirty-some years. I was at school with a boy called Eckford. These days - under another name - he is a professional magician. Yay for changes...!
