That most rarified of institutions, a private library, founded in the eighteenth century as a "conversation club" has become a refuge, while the City Library is closed for reconstruction, for the Graphic Novels Reading Group: we sit in the committee room and slide comics across the big table to each other.
The Ladies' Room is an entire suite of rooms: a sitting room which leads into an antechamber, on either side of which is a small washroom with a lavatory beyond it. And this brass fitting is on the door of the innermost chamber.
