You watched it so we don't have to! These days there seems to be a lot of elaboration and repetition to fill out factual programmes - especially when there are ad-breaks, which allow for a lot more. M is watching a series of programmes on the Colosseum which have clearly paid a lot of academics to say a couple of sentences each - this is obviously more impressive than one academic saying a lot of sentences. There are a lot of ad-breaks and a lot of reenactment, and a lot of supposition. I gave up after a couple of programmes but I will watch the one on female gladiators.
