May's out!

In the first complete provisioning fail of the current unpleasantness, I have run out of paracetamol. A voice in my head is saying Huh, that would happen when my bad knee is playing up!, but I tell the voice not to be silly, it's when my knee is painful that I burn through the paracetamol. But this made me doubly determined to go out fir a walk today, so I hobbled up the hill, and admired the blossoms finally bursting open and scenting the air.

Also a surprising amount of patriotic bunting. I wasn't expecting that. I look on all the VE Day celebration as a bit of a government publicity stunt, I suppose, and it comes as a surprise that there are people prepared to take it seriously, even if only as a much-needed entertainment.

How beautiful the lilac is! Ours is all done for the year. Northern California is always weirdly ahead of the calendar month I think it should be. We are now entering summer for real. And it's only early May!
