Well, that was unexpected -
May. 3rd, 2020 04:12 pmAround midday, I was just finishing off a website update before I went to make lunch, when
durham_rambler came to see how I was getting on, and to ask whether I had looked at the avaialbility of Ocado deliveries this morning. Of course I had, but it was very nearly midday, so I refreshed that tab on my desktop just in case, and it presented me with a grid containing a choice of delivery times: no The queue is closed, not even You are in a queue. This was so unexpected, that it took me a moment to remember what to do next.
So I have a large order from Ocado coming tomorrow. Not everything I wanted was in stock, obviously and that includes flour, which I was able to buy when we first went into lockdown, but which is now comprehensively out of stock. But not everything I thought would be difficult was unavailable, and that includes paper tissues.
durham_rambler won't get his first choice of fruit squash, but he won't run out, either.
Lunch was much delayed: but I'm quite relieved not to have to brave the big out-of-town Sainsbury's just yet.
