Domestic interior

Today we have mostly been sitting around talking to desperance and klwilliams. We have sat around and talked in the Bean Scene, and in the house (with added cats), and in the garden next to the lemon tree, and in the study amid the recipe books, and in the Middle Eastern restaurant: which is all good, that's why we came.

We have come back to the hotel for a break and to make plans for the next few days. Later we will return to talk some more. desperance is cooking, and we have wine.

When we left, he was sawing a sheep's head in half.

I guess this is why they don't invite me to dinner, yikes! They know I would be dying at the idea of eating brains or eyeballs or whatever.

The rest of the company made it clear that we would not be up for that, so instead there were lamb shanks casseroled with quince.

The sheep's head appeared tonight, to be picked over by more adventurous diners.

I think m'wife has a picture from the last time I did this. (I should point out m'wife is one of those too squeamish to share in the deliciousness that results, but she didn't mind recording the crudest moment of the event.)

I think that more than one of us want to see a picture of this. Me, I want to know if you saw the top off (traditionally) or down the middle.

Down the middle, clean through brain-pan and cervical vertebrae and jaw, thus yielding two equal halves to play with. It never occurred to me to take the top off like an egg...
