We are struggling - as we do most weekends - with the Guardian's Saturday crossword. This week it is set by Paul, and centres on three long solutions, all connected to a four letter solution, clued: "King's certain to lose crown". That has to be "Lear" ('clear' without the 'C', not brilliant, but persuasive).

Since late last night, then, we have been racking our brains for speeches from Lear which might match the pattern of word-lengths given - to no avail. This morning I switched on the internet, and was searching that, findng many fne speeches but nothing that fits our grid. durham_rambler has just uttered the magic words: "the Owl and the Pussy-Cat".
