Bad housekeeping
Apr. 19th, 2018 10:05 pmI have spent the evening deleting e-mails from my inbox.
That's not how I planned to spend the evening: there's a letter I need to write, and I thought I could save myself some retyping if I cut and pasted from previous correspondence. If only I could find the previous correspondence. And while I was looking for it, I might as well delete some of the clutter - the circulars, the mailing list stuff, the things whose time has passed. Not to mention moving things into the folders where they belong.
This process has reduced the size of my inbox by some 200 emails, so I wouldn't call it time wasted. But it didn't turn up the letters I was looking for.
Because, I just realised, I had already moved them into the folder where they belonged.
