A last-minute invitation took us out last night in steady rain, to the first full performance of Tim Dalling's new show:

It was funny and sad, which is what I expect from Tim: it was also, in the upstairs room of the Cumberland Arms, crowded with Tim's friends and relations, quite alarmingly involving. We did a ritual; I hope it worked.

A weekend on Arran

Back to the holiday report, second pass, from the top: We set off, and reached Arran on the first day. We spent a weekend there: one evening, one morning and the two days between, of which one sunny, one grey and rainy. For once, though, this had been accurately forecast: we made plans, and they worked.
