Eastercon Day Zero
Mar. 28th, 2013 07:24 pmFirst stage successfully accomplished: we have reached Bradford. In the end I didn't achieve all (or even most of) the things I intended to before we left, and even so we left later than we planned, but the work-type things will be fine next week and the laundry will wait, as will the half-written LJ post.
We had pleasant weather for the drive - sunshine, even - and as we approached Leeds / Bradford, and the landscape changed from green fields to brown fields with white borders , the clouds gathered in a heap with three bright holes in the top and a pyramid of rays descending to onto the monochrome patchwork below. But even where the snow lay deepest ("They seem to have built the airport in the biggest snowdrift they could find," said
durham_rambler) it kept itself to itself and didn't encroach on the road.
So we are here. And it must be time to go out and look for dinner.
