English midsummer

Earlier this afternoon, there was torrential rain. Later there was rain and hail and thunder and lightning, all hammering on my attic skylight. But in between there was a brief pause, and I dashed out to empty the compost into the bin. There's a clump of St John's Wort which has self seeded right by the path, and it was so pretty I went right back inside to fetch my camera:
