Some days, I get Bizarre Information Overload before 9 am. Here's this morning's haul:

• The Guardian carries an obituary for Sadie Corré: "She was one of the great pantomime cats..." (with photo).


• Cliff Richard and the Shadows are touring - and that's not just some band he's cobbled together, that's Hank Marvin, Brian Bennett, Bruce Welch (and, to judge from Cliff's web site, a cardboard cut-out). I will not be going to see them at the Newcastle Arena.


• A tufted puffin has been sighted in Kent.

And, as gillpolack points out, tomorrow is Talk Like A Jewish Pirate Day. Good Yontif to all who observe either element - or both - of this festival!
