The Prince of Darkness

Regular readers will know that I do not habitually post about today's newspaper; I prefer my news mellowed by age. But the cover of today's G2 has been taunting me. Trailing an interview with Lord Mandelson, it carries a picture of the man himself, and the statement, "I don't really see myself as a big beast. More as a kindly pussycat." So I have to ask you:
