And here we are in Lerwick.

We had a wonderful week -just a bit more than a week - in Orkney, with consistently good weather, which has astonished all concerned. There has been walking, and eating and drinking, and small bouts of high-intensity shopping. We have taken many, many pictures, and we - no, this time it's just me! - I have thought about things I would like to post here, and will try to do so.

And last night we caught the overnight ferry to Lerwick, found Sue WINOLJ waiting for us, and are now settled in our rented flat. It is comfortable, spacious and well-equipped - which means, among other things, that I can has internets! We drove up to Brae to have lunch with Ann Cleeves (and others, including Ann's French translator) at Busta House, and are about to go out to the library for the launch party for Ann's new book, White Nights.

So I'd better go and get ready...
