I don't post much about politics here; what can I say that hasn't already been said better by others? And it's been such a long downhill slope, haven't we seen it all already?

But I admit that pictures on last night's news of Gordon Brown cosying up to Margaret Thatcher still managed to shock me.

Silly me. After all, we've read Animal Farm, we know how it ends:
