Match Pointless
Jan. 3rd, 2006 09:34 pmA day in town doing various odds and ends. A quick check-in with
samarcand, then to the Tyneside Cinema for the preview of Match Point, all full of hope, because I tend to like Woody Allen even when the reviews are bad, and this time round I'd been hearing expressions like "a return to form": Catherine Bennet, for example, in The Guardian, said it was "Like no Woody Allen I have ever seen, ie gripping."

durham_rambler picked me up at the station, fed me pizza and wine, told me about his day and, after I had launched on about the third explanation of what was wrong with the movie, said "You'd better put it in your LJ." So I have.
