The joys of astronomy

truepenny has been reading Richard Hinckley Allen's Star Names: Their Lore and Meaning (mine, according to Amazon UK, for a mere twenty quid, since we don't have the Dover edition: curses!). Much excellent information, including the fact that "Ulug Bey, the grandson of Tamburlane the Great, was a noted astronomer" (hence the Observatory).

And some wonderful names: someone, surely, must write the children's book (picture book?) called Felicity of Tents and the State Umbrella - please?
